If a listed title has more than one number, or has brackets with letters in it after the title, i.e, 2876(ABC), then it means that particular title is on is on more than one disk, i.e, a title with 2 or more numbers or letters after it, is on 2 or more disks and costs the price of 2 or more disks etc. Codes in front of a disk number will tell you what machine they run on:- A + sign means that a title works fine on the A500+, A600 and the A1200. Anything with an X in at the start is AGA (A1200 & A4000) only. After disk "2700" we dropped A500 compatibility, although some may still work on the A500 after this we don't test them nowadays. The software on some utility disks may require a knowledge of AmigaDOS/Shell, and some require a knowledge of programming etc. You can now use the scroll gadgets to quickly skip through the text, you can also use the search facility from the pull down menus so you don't have to read several thousand lines of my quality crap reviews! The demo versions contain only one data file, which will be used regardless of what option you have chosen. So don't be surprised if an option different from the one you have selected is used! +1569 KIDSPAINT --------------- KidsPaint is a childrens paint program designed to be used by children of almost all ages. With younger children it would be safe to have someone older to watch over them. +1633 GATOR GRAFIX ------------------ A tutorial on producing some fairly decent grafix! +1777 VIKING SAGA ----------------- As the title suggests, this disk is more of an education than a demo (the artwork and anims make is very atmospheric). Watch and learn as the vikings invade and plunder the villages. +1877 SIMON SPACE MATHS ----------------------- An Educational program aimed at the kids but depending on what age you tell the computer you are depends on the difficulty level. Level 1 Is selected if the age is less than 5. All sums are randomly generated, but only addition and subtraction are used on this level. If the current sum ia a subtraction then the program ensures the first number will always be bigger than the second number, thereby ensuring no negative answers. Numbers generated do not exceed 5. Level 2 Is selected if the age is between 5 and 8. As level 1, again only addition and subtraction are used, but the numbers randomly generated are between 5 & 10. Level 3 Is selected if the age is between 9 and 12. All 4 sums + addition, - subtraction, * multiplication and / division are used on the rest of the levels. When the program selects a division, it ensures it will only use numbers that divide without any remainders. Numbers used on this level are between 10 and 50. Level 4 Is selected if the age is between 13 and 15. Numbers used on this level are between 10 and 100. Level 5 Is selected if the age is 16 and over. Strictly for educational purposes only though. A superbly well put together education geography tool which will appeal to even the youngest David Attenborough. Nicely drawn and lots of information to read. Highly recommended +2392 KIDS PAINT BOX -------------------- Demo version only of what appears to be a very interesting paint package. There are only a couple of pictures you can colour in but if you send off the registration fee then you get the full version. +2409(ABC) ROB BAXTERS DESKTOP MUSIC GUIDE ------------------------------------------ If you cant tell the difference between a Middle C and a silly farty noise made by yer mate then this is the one for you. Teaches you all about music, the ins and outs of notation and also a history of music.Yet another classic from RB himself. Buy this today. +2417 STEAM ENGINE ANIM ----------------------- A clever little anim which follows on in the series and shows the complete workings of a steam engine. Great education tool. +2418 2 STROKE PETROL ENGINE ANIM --------------------------------- Same as 2417 but with a petrol engine. +2451 THE LITTLE TRAVELLER V1.1 ------------------------------- My god this is good. Partly because its done by a friend of mine but 99% its just so damn good. It's an educational package which teaches all about the different countries, their currencys, the culture etc etc etc. It's done in CanDo so its basically a point and click affair, but don't forget the pull down menus!!! +2472 TUMPTY AND THE FIREWORK ALPHABET ------------------------------------- An educational package for young kids learning their alphabet. Each chapter has its own icon so if you want to look up who said what when, its very simple to find. +2523 MATHS ADVENTURE --------------------- The maths adventure is a very simple game. You the young adventurer must try to escape the kings MATHS ADVENTURE. To do this you must pass through a series of rooms. You start at room 1 and finish at room 10 (If you get that far). In each room you will presented with a problem. Either by a person situated in that room or through something you find, like an inscription on a wall etc... If you answer this problem correctly you will be allowed to enter the next room. +2533 STERLING ENGINE --------------------- Another one of those great educational disks which shows what goes on inside an engine. +2585 ASTRONOMY V2.0 -------------------- Astronomy V2.0 is a menu driven astronomy program which calculates information about the Sun,Moon,Planets and constellations. +2641 STARVIEW ASTROLOGY ------------------------ StarView is a mouse-operated program designed to show graphically the positions of the stars and planets from any point on the earth. Most stars above magnitude 4.5 are shown (over 850 in total), more than 100 with their proper names. The outlines and names of all 88 constellations are also given. Other features include zooming in/out, finding a constellation, adjusting the level of detail shown, saved preferences and the ability to print a view of the sky. +2660 FUN WITH CUBBY DEMO ------------------------- Demo version of the CLR title of the same name. This is full of educational stuff. Three programs on here, Counting Fun, a simple sums game. Get it right and a smiley face pops up....Next up is Word Puzzle, a simple word game, and finally style is the classic pairs game. Fll colour pictures, animations, text etc etc. You know it. All aspects are covered from the creation, nuclear fusion and stacks more stuff. Aimed at children between the ages of 4 & 7 it is set out in a similar way to a book allowing children to look at colourful illustrations and read clear words. Also provided is the facility to hear the story. Not only this but the story animates itself. A simple and familiar story is used each time to help the child develop his or her reading skills. +2802 PHOTOGRAPHY:THE DARK ROOM --------------------------------- Think your a bit of a Lord Lichfield eh. Well with this disk it shows exactly how to get the best results from your old 5 quid Kodak. Only 2 stages are present on this disk but if you send off for the registered version you will get a two disk set covering everything you could possibly think of to do with photography. Illustrations and digitized piccys are included. +2909 VERB TESTER V1.1 ---------------------- Welcome to the French Tester! This is a program that tests your ability in the area of French Verbs. This also corrects you if your answer is incorrect, so you can learn the correct answer. This technique of trial and error helps a lot with G.C.S.E. French. +2920 ASSASSINS BACK TO SCHOOL 3 -------------------------------- The third educational compilation from the assassins as arrived, Im not sure what age group the proggys are aimed at cause i haven't seen them but there are 3 programs on here, REFLEX TEST (Maths Skills) AMOS TREASURE SEARCH (Maze learning game) TYPE OR DIE (Typing Tutor). The complete book is divided into two sections; 'Classical' covering the Greek and Roman myths, and 'Tolkien & Folklore' covering more modern myths. The book employs an easy to use icon based navigation system as well as full online help. +2984 A TO Z PAINT PAD ---------------------- This program was written in Amos Professional and it looks absolutely stunning. Proffessional is an understatemnet. Basically its a colouring pad for kids showing the letters of the alphabet one at a time with a different picture to colour in for each. Brilliant package for kids aged 3-6. +3037 KIDS DISK 1 ----------------- From the creator of Kids DTP comes this disk with 3 educational programs. - Colour The Alphabet - Bit obvious isnt it. - Switch on to Binary - Basic education about Binary. - Basic paint program - Scaled down art package written im Amos which you can mess with the source if you have Amos. +3038 KIDS DISK 2 ----------------- Another offing from the aformentioned geezer. This time he brings you - Maths Maze - Help the princess escape from the evil dungeon by answering different maths questions. - Beat Sheets - Create your own music with this VERY basic package. - Shape Sorter - A shape recognition game. +3043 STATES OF EUROPE ---------------------- An educational package written in Hyperbook. Contains information about every country in Europe. Four different sections are available. Factfiles, Organisations, Eurolists and Flags. Information includes Population, Life Expectancy and tons more facts and figures. Great geography package. +3102 GCSE MATHS ---------------- This disk includes all aspects covered in the GCSE maths curriculum. Topics include Prime Numbers & Factors, Fractions, General Maths, Calendar maths and Measurements. The questions did appear to be a little bit easy for GCSE but if you are struggling then this disk could be for you. +3124 AMIGADOS TUTORIAL ----------------------- This disk is very handy for all you complete beginners out there. (And judging by our customers, there are some old timers who could do with this). A window appears upon loading, with every single DOS command you could think of. Click on a command and a full description of what that command does and how it can be used appears in the bottom half of the screen. Mega eh!!! Just about every single customer of ours needs this. You try spending an hour and quarter telling somebody how to copy a file from one disk to another when hes only got one drive and no harddrive. It's not easy. Excellent learning aid. +3186 LEARN & PLAY PLUS ----------------------- Lots of educational programs on here for age ranges 4 to 40. BlackboardMaths, Flower Garden, Tug, Addidrill, Multidrill, Spellquiz, Cat & Mouse, Concentration, Galactic Worm and Shark. +3223 ROME ---------- An excellent educational package covering lots of events during the Roman era. Pictures, text, information, and even animations. Superb for kids interested in this kind of thing. +3243(AB) APOLLO 11 ------------------- This program is a presentation about the Apollo 11 mission to send man to the moon. It is written in Hyperbook and is a first class educational program for anyone interested in this sort of thing. There is tons and tons of information spanning the two disks. Disk 2 is filled with sampled quotes relative to the lunar landing. If you register the program, you will recieve a third disk filled with pictures. +3263 WORKBENCH 2 TUTORIAL -------------------------- An excellent tutorial/guide for all you users who are having trouble working your way through AmigaDOS. This disk only covers KS2 (and rightly so) although it should be helpful to all you new A1200 users out there as well. Information is given on ALL the dos commands available + info on directorys, using Shell/CLI, opening windows and much much more. +3293 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS -------------------------- 4 educational programs on here for anyone aged 8 to 80. MorseTrainer V1.2 and RMorse v1.1 are both Morse code tutor packages. Morsetrainer can even take an ASCII text file and convert it into morse code for you. Excellent stuff. EnsembleVerbes is a very nice, easy to use French verb tutor and finally, Ready Robot is a Kids education package covering around 15 different things. Word searches, puzzles, games, etc etc. +3312 KIDS DISK 5 ----------------- 3 good educational programs on here for young kids. RoboProgo and Takeaways are both maths learning aids and AlphaSnap is a program for teaching the alphabet. +3321(AB) JAPANESE DICTIONARY ----------------------------- This is the demo version of the Japanese Talking Picture Dictionary. Basically, it allows you to learn Japanese easily, by showing pictures and speaking the words to you. The words are all common ones which would be used in everyday life e.g, Sweet & Sour Pork please Mister!!(only joking!!!). An excellent learning aid. +3322 JAPANESE LANGUAGE AIDS ---------------------------- Japanese Hiragana is the demo version of the Hiragana learning module. As a demo version, it is slightly crippled in that only the top ten characters are responsive to the user. This module allows the user to see the strokes used in the proper order to write each Hiragana symbol, as well as hear a digitized pronunciation of the syllable, and a word actually using that symbol. Seeing the strokes actually preformed while practicing them greatly reduces the time needed to learn to read and write them. +3338 PICTURE MATHS ------------------- An educational maths package for young children. By getting the answers to the maths questions right, a picture is gradually revealed. The quiz gets increasingly harder as the child gets more questions right. A scoreboard at the end of each section shows how the child has done. +3364 KIDS DISK 6 ----------------- Only one educational title on this disk. For ages 4-7. Set in a sweet shop with large bright colourful graphics, the child must add, subtract, and count different numbers of sweets in the shop. Excellent. +3410 MYTHOS GREEK ------------------ Mythos Greek is a reference book for anyone studying or interested in classical Greek mythology. It is certainly not a complete work covering everything ever mentioned in Greek mythology but it does give a damn good go at it. +3460(AB) A PHOTOGRAPHIC LECTURE -------------------------------- This is an excellent photographic tutorial entitled `A Different Approach'. Written by a photographer with over 30 years experience, this program will teach you how to get away from taking pictures of `the norm' i.e. sunsets and swans, and experiment with some more radical ideas. The program is written in AMOS and contains lots of IFF pictures and documentation. +3562(AB) TRAVEL GUIDE ---------------------- An excellent educational/learning package for anyone with a remote interest in geography. Using a Hyperbook frontend, incorporating pictures and text, anybody who hasnt got a bloody clue could do worse then buy this set. +3590(AB) PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES:HOLIDAYS ------------------------------------------ Written in hyperbook, this 2 disk package will show you how to get the best from your holiday snaps whether using a shitty 5 quid Argos camera or a two grand Mukahato. Lots of examples of using light etc and also a section for posh gits who use videocameras. +3631 OCTAMED AND MIDI TUTORIAL DISK ------------------------------------ This OctaMED MIDI Tutorial disk has been balanced with a considerable amount of information concerning MIDI from various articles on MIDI, an animated OctaMED Pro 5 MIDI Tutorial - showing how to set up a MMD1 MIDI Module from within OctaMED Pro 5 itself, there is also a series of tutorial MMD1 MIDI Modules on this disk which will load and play from the menu system itself. Alternatively, you may wish to load the OctaMED MMD1 MIDI Modules into your version of OctaMED Professional (and why not!) and examine the structure of these MIDI modules for future reference. Morse Code Trainer also takes you through 18 exercises, each designed to help you memorise the Morse alphabet quickly. +3793 BEGINNERS TYPING TUTOR ---------------------------- Not a typing tutor as such, but typing games and exercises to increase your speed. +3834 KIDS DISK 7 ----------------- The latest title in this superb kids educational series is based around a holiday theme. Count the buckets and spades and things. Very very colourful and includes lots of nice sound effects. +3844(AB) CAMERAS & ACCESSORIES ------------------------------- This program gives the novice, or those wishing to upgrade, some idea of what the different types of camera available will do. Armed with this information, even a print out, a visit can be made to the camera shop with some real idea of what is required. You then come out with what YOU want, not necessarily what the dealer wanted to sell you ! Having bought the new camera, this program gives an idea of what is available to go with it. Written in Hyperbook, it covers every angle of the battle, including the number of planes/soldiers involved, who was in charge, who shot who etc etc etc. A whole dumper truck full of information at your fingertips. +3926(AB) THE JUDGE & JUDGING ----------------------------- Another photographic tutorial telling you how to win loads of moolah by taking the right sort of pictures and entering them in competitions. +3986(AB) FLASH & FLASH UNITS ----------------------------- The use of a flash gun is an extremely important part of photography. Everyone who takes pictures, seriously or just of the kids at Christmas, uses a flash. Usually, all that they do is switch it on in blissful ignorance and hope for the best. If your a student with an Amiga and are not using RM, you are missing out on this excellent program, whether you are doing GCSE's, A-Levels, at university or whatever. However, the program has many other uses too. How about if your going on holiday abroad and want to brush up on your language skills?, RM will help you. If your taking your driving test why not let RM test you on the highway code? If your an Amiga coder, you could even use RM to help you become familiar with commands, the uses of RM are unlimited. In fact just about anything in life which requires a good sound knowledge of something, RM can be used! With RM, YOU enter the questions and answers into the program to suit your own knowledge. It's important that you balance the questions at the correct level, ie. don't make them too easy or too hard. You could even get a friend to produce the questions and answers for you if you like to make it more difficult. Entering questions yourself then being tested on them when you've already entered the answer yourself may seem pretty ridiculous at first, but it isn't. There has bee a compete lack of educational software on the Amiga, so we think it's time to start adding some to our library! +4208(ABC) NIGHT MATH ATACK --------------------------- An educational maths game with nice graphics and music to keep the kids interested, good idea eh! +4209 A-Z COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD -------------------------------- This is a continuation of disk 4207. This programme has been written in Amigaguide, as it is easy and simple to use. There are no maps as it is just an A to Z of world countries. Included are enough items of interest to make it acceptable as a quick reference guide for which it is intended. Being a reference guide this programme should be used in conjunction with an up to date atlas. The author has included locations which make the countries easy to find. He has covered all of the worlds countries and most of the islands belonging to those countries with the exception of a few isolated tiny islands due to being unable to gain any information. +4210 THE WEATHER GUIDE ----------------------- An enjoyable and informative presentation on the science of technology. This presentation aims to explain how and why weather formations occur and shows the various physical processes going on in the atmosphere. To do this we must explore the Earth in space, the oceans, the land and of course the atmosphere. In this interactive program you can investigate the weather in our temperature latitudes and look at the special weather informations in the tropics. So let's grab a brolly and get on with it! +4211 ANIMAL LAND ----------------- Animal Land is aimed at 4yrs and upwards to aid children in recognising numbers using animals and animations to help them remember. It also gives the child an insight as to where and what a particular animal lives and looks like. the program is also designed so that the parent can join in with the child while the child learns and plays. After loading you will be asked were a certain animal lives using either the numbers on the top of the computer or the numeric kepad located on the right of the main key pad. Get your child to find the number on the screen and the to find that number on the computer. Asking the child what number they are pressing will encourage them to recognise the numbers as well as count. +4212 BAR TENDER V1.2 --------------------- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy states "The best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster". The author was unable to locate the recipe for that one, so these other 1000 will have to suffice. The program lets you browse through a 1000 drink mixes, complete with separate ingredient listings and preparation instructions. Hmm, interesting, always wondered how they made the salt stick to the rim of a Margereta, well now I know! +4213 EARLY LEARNER ------------------- A very simple words and pictures program. Great fun for the younger kids! +4544 CP V0.205 --------------- CP is the most advanced, feature-packed kid's package currently available on any system. That is what they will say when the full version is released!! Incorporating full-screen animation with an advanced GUI and full customisation, CP truly represents the ultimate in children's software. Add a wealth of fun-packed features and you can't help wondering why something this great hasn't been done before! CP is currently at version 0.205, with 0.25 coming soon. Only the paint package side of the software is available at this stage, but more and more parts of the system will be included as version after version is released. It concentrates on fun, graphics, power and ease of use. It represents a new era in software - CP is the most user-friendly software on any platform - a major point considering it has been designed for kids. But what are you reading this for?
